This accommodated Creative Camp will be based in the tranquil surrounds of Campfire in the Heart, a small retreat style venue on the edge of town, close to the Eastern range. Each morning we will venture into the heart of the country around Alice, to explore and create, visiting special places that only local knowledge can reveal, places that feel like they’re miles from anywhere, plus some of the better known places; Trephina Gorge, N’dhala Gorge, Emily and Jesse Gap.
We will sit in the shade of huge river red gums, so old that they have witnessed the whole unfolding story of colonisation in the Centre. Around the fire at night, under the stars as always, we will share our own stories, and if it can be arranged we will hear stories from some local artists, both indigenous and non indigenous.
There will time in the afternoons to create in a comfortable studio/workspace, plus time for simple relaxation and reflection in this beautiful, peaceful retreat in the heart of Australia.
Accommodation will be in either share or single/double rooms or simply in a swag, as per usual if you would prefer, but with the luxury of flush toilets and hot showers.
Meals, drinks, 4WD transport, art workshops, equipment and support will be provided by Charlie and Deb and will entail all the wonderful creative adventures and expert information expected on a Larapinta Creative Camp. Please email Deb for accommodation prices.
